Troubleshoot issues with the WattsUp app not opening or crashing

Quick Fixes to Try First

  1. Force close the app completely and reopen it
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check for app updates in the App Store / Google Play
  4. Ensure you have a stable internet connection

Common Issues & Solutions

App crashes immediately on launch

If the app closes right after opening:

  • Update to the latest version from your app store
  • Clear the app cache (Settings → Apps → WattsUp → Clear Cache)
  • Restart your device
  • If on Android, check if the app has all required permissions
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app (your data is safe in the cloud)

App freezes on loading screen

If the app gets stuck loading:

  • Check your internet connection (WiFi or mobile data)
  • Force close and reopen the app
  • Try switching between WiFi and mobile data
  • Wait 30 seconds - sometimes initial load takes time
  • Clear app cache and try again

App won't open after update

If the app stopped working after an update:

  • Restart your device first
  • Check if your device OS is up to date
  • Ensure you meet the minimum system requirements
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app
  • Contact support if the issue persists

Blank white or black screen

If the app opens to a blank screen:

How to Reinstall WattsUp

Your data is safely stored in the cloud, so reinstalling won't lose your activities or settings:

  1. Delete the WattsUp app from your device
  2. Restart your device
  3. Open App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
  4. Search for "WattsUp" and reinstall
  5. Sign in with your existing account
