Why we built this
As the last of my 20s fade away, I have less and less time to ride. I wanted training that adapted to my life, not the other way around.
I tried TrainerRoad. I tried Zwift. Both are great products but they expect a lot from you. They expect you to follow the plan. They do not really care if you are completely wrecked after a long day at the office, or if your week has fallen apart, or if you just need something short and sharp instead of the ninety minute threshold block they have lined up. The plan is the plan.
What I actually wanted was someone in my corner who understood my schedule and could build around it. A coach who could look at my week and say, you have thirty minutes before the office on Tuesday and an hour on Thursday, here is what we are going to do with that. Someone who would not make me feel like I was failing a plan every time life got in the way.
AI made that possible in a way nothing else had. Suddenly I had something smart enough to reason about my training, flexible enough to adapt to whatever the week threw at me, and available whenever I needed it. Got a commute? That is a session. Tired after work? Let us do something easy. Want to start racing? Let us build toward that. The accessibility of a real coaching conversation, without the cost of an actual coach.
The only problem was the overhead. Every conversation started from zero. Upload the ride file. Paste in the power numbers. Explain the context. Remind it who you are and what you are working toward. The advice was good but only after you had done all the admin to get there.
WattsUp removes that loop. It connects directly to your Garmin or Wahoo, keeps the AI continuously aware of your actual training picture, and means every conversation starts with full context. No uploads. No copy paste. No explaining yourself from the beginning again.
You just ask.
